Line-up confirmed for Music Truro festival

Organisers of Truro’s first week-long community music festival are putting the finishing touches to an eclectic and exciting line-up of events.

Music Truro takes place between September 20 and 27 at various venues across this city, from live performances on the street to productions at the Hall for Cornwall.

Activities and events are planned for every day of the action-packed week. The eight-day festival is being organised by Totally Truro Business Improvement District with support from Event Cornwall.

Neil Scott, BID Manager, said: “We’ve been working hard to co-ordinate a varied programme which people can really get involved with.

“This is the first time that Truro has held a music festival like this, so we’ve been working closely with key venues and businesses.

“We’re catering for as many ages and musical tastes as we can, whilst harnessing the great home-grown talent we have in Truro.”

A full programme will be available at venues, shops and businesses throughout the city from the end of August.

Music Truro is funded by Totally Truro – the city’s Business Improvement District. Funds have been set aside to provide an exciting, seasonal event programme for each of the five years of the BID.’

Many events are free to audiences and participants or involve a nominal charge. Truro Carnival and Barabas at The Hall for Cornwall fall within the festival week and will be promoted alongside Music Truro activities.

Neil added: “We want everyone to make the most of Truro – visitors, residents, people who work there.

“The Music Truro programme includes events throughout the day, after work hours and into the evening to make sure the city is buzzing throughout that week.”
