Who are Totally Truro and how will the BID be delivered?

Driving forward Truro’s BID is Totally Truro, a not-for-profit limited company, led by business people like yourself trading in the City; people who are passionate about Truro and equally passionate about its future. Their vision is to ‘create a well promoted, safe, vibrant, attractive and well managed City Centre for customers, employees, businesses and investors.’

Since September 2005, you have told us what you like about Truro, what lets the City down and how it can be improved. In return, we have listened and drawn up a list of five project themes which we are convinced will increase footfall, improve the vibrancy of Truro and make it a more attractive place to trade. Read more about the projects the BID will deliver.

These projects will not happen unless there are people to deliver them. The BID will employ a dedicated full time BID Manager and a part-time Administrative Assistant whose sole responsibility will be to ensure the programme is delivered effectively, on time and to budget.

As well, as ensuring that your money is wisely spent, the BID manager will be there to represent your interests, paid for you and managed by you, through the Totally Truro Board. The Board will comprise 14 directors elected by you and representing all the business sectors within the boundary. Totally Truro will be run by, and for, local businesses and as a levy payer, you will have a stake in the Company. If you are interested, you could be on the Board.

Administration costs will be kept to a minimum through an in kind contribution of office space at Truro City Council. It will also be the BID Manager’s responsibility to increase the value of the BID through securing grant funding and sponsorship for the programme and by working in partnership with appropriate organisations to maximise the amount and quality of projects delivered.

Totally Truro will not be allowed to make a profit. The money you give us and the additional income generated through the lifetime of the BID, will all be invested in projects that will make a positive difference to trading in Truro.

If the BID is approved, this exciting initiative will start on 1st October 2007.

Initially, Totally Truro has been set up with two Directors – Tony Welford, Stephens and Scown, and Mike Eathorne Gibbons, The Donnington Group, both members of the BID Steering Group.
