What consultation have you done?

Since September 2005, Totally Truro has sought your views on a BID for the City – consultation has included:

  • September 2005.
    Presentation evening attended by 90 business leaders from Truro who gave an enthusiastic response to the principle of a Truro BID giving Totally Truro their mandate to develop the proposals further.
  • April 2006.
    Survey circulated to over 700 businesses asking them to indicate their priorities for improving the City – 177 organisations from across the City responded representing a 25% response rate.
  • October 2006.
    Totally Truro BID Newsletter circulated to all businesses within the BID area giving results of the consultation, latest news and inviting feedback on the BID. At this stage, a decision was taken to exempt businesses with a rateable value of less than £10,000.
  • November 2006.
    Focus group workshop event where 35 people attended to help develop and prioritise specific projects within the key themes.
  • February 2007.
    Street meetings held on 27th and 28th February 2007 on Lemon Quay and High Cross to which all potential levy paying businesses were invited to comment on the draft proposals, previously circulated at the beginning of February. Totally Truro engaged with over 200 businesses during the two days. Written feedback was encouraged through completion of a survey, also available on line at www.totallytruro.co.uk.
  • Other.
    Consultations have also taken place face to face and by telephone with individual ratepayers including business leaders at the head quarters of multi-nationals, with local authorities and with Chamber of Commerce members.
